Forced Hyacinths

I hope everyone & their gardens are doing well!

I am trying something I've never done before, forcing hyacinth bulbs for Xmas - it's so cold outside I thought I'd try to bring the flowers indoors.

The two cultivars are all planted up in bulb fibre, watered lightly, covered and in a dark corner of the shed. I was just wondering, having gone rather forgetful with all the rubbish I'm expected to remember how often I should check the pots to see if the compost is still moist/needs watering? If I have an idea I can set alarms.

Generally pots rarely require watering in the Autumn. I'd just check occasionally to make sure they aren't getting too dry. Set a date in your calendar.....I often put alerts on my phone

Scarlet, thank you so much for your reply. It seems a silly question but when you've spent £16 on supplies you don't want to mess things up

And thanks for the link. I have read (and watched on youtube) several links on forcing hyacinth for Xmas but only Martha Stewart was specific and said water when the bulb fibre starts to dry out.
