  • Iris advice

We've got a pitted Iris which we acquired from somewhere. I looked at it a few weeks ago and can see that it was a little pot bound so I've potted it up.

My question is whether we should split it into individual plants and whether we should remove and pot on the little mini Irises that have developed

Hmm, I don't know much about iris but I had a beautiful patch in the garden that suddenly failed to produce many stems....it was overcrowded. I was pretty mean to it, dug the lit up and replanted in smaller groups giving it some breathing space and they all took well.

So I would split the lot, including the tidlers!
I'd keep them potted up in the GH overwinter.

Yeah! They defoe want splitting and as Scarlett suggests keep em undercover over winter to bring em on!

And once the "Rhizome" starts to develop, park it in baking hot sun! Rhizome exposed above ground! as this is what Iris need to preform to it's best!
