I cut 8 of these last night, this morning the kitchen smells lovely with their scent

We have quite a few fields full of Daffodils, both for cut flowers, but also bulbs for the garden centres round here.

Just a quick flower fix for anyone who has been missing them.

This weeks - poppy seed head, carrot flowers (yes bog standard chantenay ), cornflowers, buddleia, allium, snapdragon and purple toadflax.


Last week - lots of early multiflora sweet peas


Week before - ground elder flower, carrot flower, sweet William, cornflower, rose and red cherry plum foliage.

First ever cut flowers...

I've dedicated a bed to flowers for cutting so I can bear to cut some and bring inside. They've all been a bit slow to get going, but today I cut the first tiny posy to break myself in gently. Can't quite get over the feeling it's wrong to cut them.

Feeling hot and bothered at the allotment on Monday, so I picked all cool, calm white flowers.
