Seed indentification

I'm just going through the seed I collected last year to put a sowing plan together, but I've come across one I can't identify.

It's quite distinctive so hopefully one of you knowledgeable people could help.

I've been through my planting list from last year so no clues there. It does however look like it has multiple heads on each stem (see picture) or at least a leaf nodule half way up.

Also if anyone has experience with it, should I clear the fluff/chaff off or just plant as is?

Japanese anemone seeds are very fluffy. I wouldn't fiddle about trying to get the fluff off, just sow them as they are, whatever they are.

Good point, but no they're not. I remember collecting them and I only collect from things I want more of.

We're very careful with things like dandelions as we're trying to reduce there numbers.

I collected some strawberry runners from someone last summer and they where happy for me to take a division of a Daisy like plant, and the Japanese Anemone looks like the one.

No wonder my planting list didn't give me any clues.
