I have several Oriental lily bulbs to plant (40) and was thinking of using MFBs, for them, so how many bulbs could be grown in these pots, and as I am going to sink the pots into the ground would it be better to remove the bottom of the pots?

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I would suggest 5-6 per pot and I wouldn't remove the bottoms.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet -

I usually bring my pots of Lily bulbs under cover during the winter.
I have 4 per pot.
