  • Pretty in pink, Oenothera, only found out the name because a catalogue arrived the other day. Can be a bit invasive but will tolerate poor dry soil. When it starts looking tatty chop it off and it will re flower.

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

            • ^^^^^ That flower above, Calendula, to me, does not get the recognition it deserves, it has a lovely shape and now more mixed colours, easy to grow and edible though I have never came across seeds for snow princess, but will watch out for it now

                          • Verbena bonarensis, not that spectular except for its height but a great attractor for butterflies. Seeds freely and almost becomes a weed.

                            • I love that ^^^^ It was swarming with goldfinches last winter so I've planted even more this year.

My flower is an Ox eye daisy (I think). Its popping up all over the place and its very welcome.

                              • The verbena bonarensis is supposed to be a hardy perennial but sadly not in my area as I can never get it to survive the winter, think its too wet and cold for it, and VC I thought the ox eye daisy had a black centre though I could be wrong, whatever it is its nice as it gives some brightness to the garden
