    • Yes cosmos - the green butterfly could be the ‘brilliant emerald’, a native of the Amazon basin.

Veggie - you only get a prize if you DIDN’T spot them. This is because the prize is a free Specsaver’s test.

      • I don't think it is cosmos, though this highlights the reason why plants should be labeled just as the emerald green butterfly is labeled " Menorka"

        • This mornings offering, Dahlia Star Mix. Quite pretty I think but of the three plants this is the only one with any colour. The others are either pale yellow or white.

          • Ligularia przewalski - tall spires of small yellow flowers and wonderful foliage below. I have several clumps which all but this one for some reason have finished flowering weeks ago.

                      • Golden Californian poppy - the national flower of California. An annual but self seeds freely in situ or elsewhere if allowed. Absolutely beautiful in large drifts blooming all through the summer and when the flower first opens it has the deep colour of yolk which fades to a lighter yellow as it ages. Partially closes its petals in poor weather or at night.
