Still a few sweet peas left - despite a couple of morning frosts.
This one is the highly scented Cupani.

    • I’ve no idea what this is, grew loads from seed and they flowered pink and blue. Low growing and beloved by the bees. Chop them back after the first flowering and they will flower again. That’s my flower for today

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • I do like lilies and I do have quite a few varieties. This dwarf asiatic lily is the earliest of my lilies to flower -[as early as mid-June]. This yellow variety is called ‘butter pixie’ and is only slightly scented. As the flowers mature the yellowness of the flowers deepens.

Today’s flower is an amaranthus (possibly one called “Fat Spike”)
I grew a packet of this a few years back in honour of my cat Spike, and they still pop up in odd places, like this heap of dead pots!

                  • Cerinthe today, self sown from seed I planted years ago. They never germinate until August and then grow like mad and flower until the hard frost cuts them back. A bit late for the bees but the stragglers like them.

                      • Today - a weed - Hogweed / heracleum sphondylium - one of the pests in my garden. I try to cut off the flower heads as soon as I see them, to stop it seeding, but this one got away. Its in for the chop today. The flowers are lovely though!

                          • Another begonia currently blooming. Delicate and hanging it’s head slightly - no need to - it has beauty.
