Flower of the Day for a year - a Challenge!

Heres a Christmas cactus, has been in flower for the past two days but I have been so busy and hadn't time to take a photo




All right I forgot, but looks better saying I was busy

Begonias still hanging on outdoors.

Hydrangeas for yesterday and Calendulas for today.

Ventured out for a snoop round my sad little garden.
Surprised to find more than one flower struggling on ......
a polyanthus for today , and a couple more to come for tomorrow.

Two for today - because they are both annual nemesia that are still hanging on .
Hoping that they might survive winter - because they are very pretty and very fragrant.

A Snowdrop. Its been out for a few days but really hard to photograph - especially in the rain.

I've brought flowers and buds into the house to remind me that spring is on its way.
Hazel and Alder, Forsythia and Camellias. They'll soon open indoors.

last of the 2018 flowers

A scented vibernum that has been flowering for a while now. It is planted under an old apple and a spreading conifer. Its head has just emerged into the sunshine this year so will need to keep an eye on it.



A snowdrop I just noticed today.



A sheltered primrose

A scraggy little surviving wallflower

And an even scraggier little dianthus

A little Calendula that snapped off while I was weeding.
Its in a jar with flatleaf parsley and some carrot leaves that were pulled up by accident

Just wondering if the cause of the little accidents is the time of year or your time of life :rolleyes

I blame it on frozen fingers (not fish ones). It was very cold in the garden this morning. Good to see all the new plants emerging though.
Happy New Year to you too, old man, and to all the young ones with flowers. We're only half way through the year and the best is yet to come. Keep those photos coming please.
