Flower of the Day for a year - a Challenge!

The daffs that were in the garden before I moved here 35+ years ago. They've probably crossed with all sorts and some are greener than others - but they're all multi-petalled.

Some more 35+ year old bunches that have survived my initial mowings. Doubt they have crossed with anything as come up each year in the same place and have always looked the same. There is one more bunch of 2 tone that will be flowering soon. The spots on the yellow ones are from passing traffic, jumbo tractors probably or delivery vans. We were only going to stay here a couple of years but the garden is still nowhere near sorted out (neither is the house).

Today it’s a Prunus of some sort. Only flowers for a week every March and there are lots of them around so it is the week of the Pink Trees. The bronze foliage is rather lovely for the rest of the summer.

For the first time, I think I've identified these daffodils - they're known as "the Ugliest daffodils in the world"!! or the Derwydd daffodil. or Thomas Virescent daffodil - and is a very old South Wales daffodil.

Used to have some like that in Ilfracombe when I lived at the Coastguard Station, perhaps they could swim!

They seem to be growing in all sorts of places, even made their way to the States so I wouldn't be surprised if they were in Ilfracombe.

Another heather, erica darlyensis silbershmelze. Silber is for silver and schmelze is maybe for the sneaky dog wee up the pot

A dark leaved polyanthus. I'm sure it has a proper name but I've lost the label.

Japonica today, a bit that someone gave me which has much better flowers than one I have bought!
