Flower of the Day for a year - a Challenge!

A flower!!! Really don’t know what this is, succulent sort of thing, grown in the famous wall and flowers in the sun. Also comes in Magents and yellow.

It's some sort of Mesembryanthemum. I've got some annual ones in my wall:

I have a red beesianum, bought from Morries a few weeks ago - haven't decided where to plant it yet!

v popular with the bumblebees, though the honeybees never visit it - probably the flowers are too long for them.

Nasturtium - Empress of India, a deep red flower and dark green foliage on the seed packet.




Looks pretty similar to any other Nasturtium I've ever grown in reality, with obligatory blackfly of course.

Something cool for today, Hydrangea pectoralis, the temperature is 31.7c at the moment. Grows well on a north facing wall.

Not exactly a flower but the dark seed heads of Honesty.
First we enjoy the flowers, then the seed heads and finally the silver discs containing the seeds.
A Value-for-money plant that self seeds freely - and is loved by the Orange tip butterfly.

Everyone should grow it.

Scabious, Butterfly Blue. Pretty little thing that will self seed some of the seedlings come out pink.

An undemanding self-seeder. One of my Must-haves.

Dahlia of the day,first flowers opened,this is a wild area,mixture of allium bulbs,centranthus which is good in the shade,gooseberries at the back & gojiberry with a few brown leaves I’ll have a look at that soon & cut them off,it might need watering over there we haven’t had much rain over here.

Something from me today.

A perennial geranium - I'm not sure in the name. Nearly a metre tall, can be split easily. I just keep chopping bits of and putting it somewhere else. I love it.
