I've got 4 mints in my growing in either tubs or sinks but no idea what any are called well apart from one I call garden mint that makes nice mint sauce.
Found another mint today, in Bed H. Don't know what it is but it is soooooooo Minty fresh - really cool and clean tasting - like toothpaste
Dark leaves, rounded tips, dark stem.
Wish I could remember what it was!!
Got any photos VC ?
New game we can all play, ID the mint

You'll have to wait for the rain to stop and the Air Ambulance men to arrive!!
Don't worry, I'm not sick, they're coming to pick up some furniture and "clutter" for the charity shop.

For gods sake women! Don't scare me like that
Rain! Really. Sorry but that makes me happy it lovely here, but a bit chilly
Actully, the rain has stopped but there's a cold wind!. Never mind, I'm expecting the postman to come with a box of mints in the next day or two.
I've become obsessed with Mints in their many guises.
Call off the hunt - its the so-called "Skopelos Mint".
Yesterday I had compared it to an old leaf and they didn't seem to be the same. I've just picked a young sprig from a different plant and its identical to the one in the photos - same dark purplish marking on the underside and rounded leaf shape.
Sorry about the confusion - I'll get back in my coop now.
Each year around now I upset the garden recycling rubbish men by throwing away the contents of my mint pots minus about 3 fat 6" long white roots that then get re potted in fresh compost. ( I think is makes their lorry smell too nice or something?! ) By the end of May it is filling the pot.
I have 2x 30cm pots each of Bowles Green Mint ( mint sauce, mint jelly) no name Spearmint and Chocolate mint (for fancy deserts.) I mix the 3 for fresh mint tea with the occasional sage leaf.
The 4th?! I have the best smelling pond in the area- water mint (1000lt container of mint unless I cut it back every day )
off to look at mints on-line (cutting up C Card first! )
