  • Herbs In Hanging Baskets

    Hello Folks

This year I intend to use my hanging basket tree for herbs (4 baskets) and wondered what your best successes have been?

I'm talking about soft herbs (if that makes sense) rather than the likes of Rosemary, Thyme, Bay, etc.
    Cheers

Annual herbs are "soft". Choice depends on what you like to use. Obvious ones are parsley and basil.
    ?Coriander, chervil.
Mint, oregano/marjoram are perennial but still "soft".

I sowed these oregano seeds in December, first time growing am I supposed to trim them a bit, they’re really easy to grow & looks pretty trailing over the pot edge -

If you nip the tops off they should thicken up, JJ.

          Thanks folks

I think I'll go with a few given the amount of seeds received from the mag.

The main thing that confuses me with herbs is the shop bought against home grown.

Can I recreate the shop bought ones by sowing loads of seeds per pot or are they grown under different circumstances?

As for my hanging baskets if I sow 2/3 seeds and they each take that would be enough to fill a hanging basket?
          Cheers
