Gotu Kola - advice needed!

I'm trying to branch out (no pun intended!) this year into more medicinal / unusual herbs than the standard culinary essentials I usually grow. I've just got hold of some Gotu Kola (asiatic centella / indian pennywort) and I was wondering what the best way to plant it was. I understand it's not particularly hardy in a UK winter, and prefers wet conditions. Am I best keeping it in a very well watered pot so I can bring it under cover in the winter?
Also does it prefer sun or shade?

Just beware of some of the nasty effects of medicinal herbs when you use them.
Natural does not mean safe, after all, hemlock is natural.
