Over the past two years we've been planting up one of the banks at the back of the house, top of the drive, with lavender bushes.
Just been out to water for the evening and it's alive with bees, all different types, solitaries and swarmers, bumble and humble, still a couple of late butterflies around and 4/5 humming bird hawk moths, one of the most beautiful things we get in the garden.
This afternoon we had swallowtails and camberwell beauties on the buddlia and round the lavender.
Just stood and watched for two or three minutes, wondering about the wonders of life.
