Comfrey obviously! because it's just so darn useful.......
but then again borage flowers in a glass of Pimms are pretty perfect. (We freeze them in ice cubes and have Pimms with borage at Christmas!)

And Snadger I'm jealous, Bergamot is a plant I've never managed to grow - tried every year for the last 7 years without luck, still, I'll keep trying.
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Very pretty Snadger. I don't like the flavour, but my daughter does. Might grow some next year. Enjoy your tea.

Oregano is my favourite culinary herb and I grow a patch that I allow to flower as the bees, hoverflies and lacewings love them.

Coriander - wonderful in chilli dishes, curries, salads, try a chicken sandwich with coriander mayonnaise - to die for!

I love my fennel, its 7ft high growing out of a tiny pot and has been flowering all summer, each flower cluster covered in hoverflies. i am planning to grow a few in my back yard next year.

Interestingly ...my daughter is allergic to Bergamot!

Migraine type headaches and dizzyness - it's a hidden ingredient in many foodstuffs too

                  Pretty flower though Snadge

My favourite herb.....Basil at the moment.

And I wouldn't be without my sage. I'd love to say that's why I'm wise but hey ho! It makes a fantastic addition to just about anything and can also make a tea you can use for sore throats - you can rinse your hair with it (it presumably ensures the head-lice don't have sore throats!)
I love it in any form of potato patty - with greens as a bubble and squeak or by itself or with corned beef.

                    Sage ... Hmmm!

Prob'ly - it's antiseptic so you could use it for just about anything (as I do!)

PS I love the bit that says a woman should rinse her mouth out with good wine (dental hygiene!) - I'm all for that!

Does that count as a herb?
                              Or a Substance.
