I grow and prefer curly, flat parlsey is fine if I'm using it in a green leaf salad, but when it comes to making parsley sauce for my ham it has to be curly for me. I have a traditional herb mincer which oddly is not that keen on flat as it sticks to the sides when wet, but chops the curly brilliantly!.

    CURLY, CURLY, CURLY, CURLY!!

PS, for all those who are interested my superb mincer is very similar to this one

I've never used curly - don't remember seeing it in the shops.

Well, I prefer the flat variety - only because it's easier to wash! No gritty bits, but having been of the curly hair variety since I was a child - well, until a few years ago guess I really should go for the curly!
Nope - it's got to be flat for me!

until i met my wife i would have said curly, because that is what mum used to grow so i grew up with it. my wife being eastern european will only eat the flat stuff or hamburg parsley so i have now gotten used to that. I find the flat stuff easier to grow as well.

Don't like curly at all, it definitely has a different texture and I find it pretty bitter. Flat is a more delicate flavour and I prefer it chopped roughly rather than the dust effect you get with finely chopped.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Come on folks... finely chop some flat and curly and do a blind tasting.. It may suprize
Finely chopped? Life's too short! With flat you don't have to bother...

In the poll I had to vote for I grow flat because it is tastiest. I don't think there is any difference in the taste but I grow flat because it is hardier. Get a much longer growing season for fresh parsley. But it does freeze very well - both kinds - and curly comes out looking curly.

I'll sit on the fence and say that I like both - though the curly leaved variety has proved hardier than it's flat leaved cousin in my garden.

I recall reading though a while back that flat leaved parsley fell out of favour wasn't due to taste ot texture but because people were confusing it with other, extrememly toxic umbelliferae like Water Hemlock

For taste, Flat! Curly serves best as a garnish.

Curly for me - my father (RIP) who was a gardener all his working life grew only Curly Parsley. I bought a Flat Leaf Parsley in a local supermarket which I have grown on and to be honest for taste, I prefer the Curley - much more powerful.

You can't beat Curly Parsley chopped up and in a Vegatable Soup or Broth!!

Flat from the supermarket, but curly in the garden as it seems to overwinter - Ive had a patch that sees me through winter in an old sink for 2 years now. Flat doesnt want to grow for me.

as a woman who's OH has been cutting acres of the stuff for the last week, it has to be flat that what Mr paxo's says, roll on the wet weather I may get my tea before midnight, nice piece of steak without the parsley garnish!

I'm a fence sitter on this one.

Depends on what I'm using it for/cooking.
