  • Straggly Chamomile

Hi i've had a roman chamomile in a pot for a few years. i have no idea what to do with it though. The flowers are really tall and gone floppy should i cut them back?? also do you think i should repot as it's been in the same pot for a few years now about 15cms approx.

    thanks
I have dyslexia so please excuse my spelling and grammar

You can harvest the flowers to use in tea (or home remedies)
*But remember some people are allergic, can get very bad reaction.*

Also - don't use the leaves in tea, it is foul!

Finally, yes I reckon repotting it would do the world of good - wait until the flowers are finished, trim it back, stick it in a new pot with a bit of fresh compost, a bit of a feed and some water

I would think so - I dunno, mine got killed by the mint before it got to flower stage (try again next year lol) - give it a go and report back!

Harvest the flowers when fully open on a sunny day. Can use fresh or dry for storing. Won't get much from one plant though.

Camomiles are care free and thrive on poor soils. Said to be good for your garden plants. All foliage is good on the compost and as a mild fungicidal infusion to use on plants.

I'd plant it out in a well drained, sunny, stoney spot and let it self seed and root about for more plants/crop.
