  • Basil fungus

One of my pots of Basil appears to have small white spores growing up it's stems and the whole thing is looking a bit limp. I presume it's some kind of fungal thing. Is there anything I can do to save it or should I just ditch it and start again? I presume the cause was probably over watering, any opinions?

Mine are past their best too (which wasn't much). They're tender annuals anyway .. compost it and start again next year.

this happens to every single basil I grow or buy, and to my mums too, and she is much better with watering than i am, she reckons Basil just goes like that at the end of its time. I am inclined to agree, cos I have tried all sorts and they all go the same way, and as tenders, i would imagine they can get stressed too at the amount I pick off and use.
this is one herb i just buy and keep a couple of weeks, by that time there is not much left anyway, its easy enough to grow, and I have grown it all year round indoors.
