Which variety of mint is best for mint jelly?

Due to Mr GF weeding last year I no longer have any mint plants. I would never have believed that he was that good a weeder and thought that mint was pretty much indestructible....but I appear to be wrong. Which is the best variety for making mint jelly. I have no idea what my plants were.

In think Apple mint makes nice jelly, mine died so now I just have 2 un-named varieties.

Isn’t peppermint the traditional one?

Just to add to the possibilities, I really like Moroccan mint. Apple mint's a good one as well.

I find both Pepper mint and Spear mint rather harsh.
