Read this with interest! I spend a small fortune on coriander all year round but have never had any luck with growing it. Going to find some leaf coriander seeds now and give it go in April, following your tips!

      asalam aleykum..

I have grown coriander several times, the thing to remember is as soon as you see the coriander flowering pinch the flower out completely and keep doing that, and it will grow leaves until really late in the season, albeit they will slow down leaf production.. i have pics of the coriander but ill have to link to another website.. and i dont think the admin likes that...

I grew coriander last year very successfully. I don't think the seeds knew the comments you'd make though cuz I started them in trays, pricked them out into pots, then transplanted them to a herb bed on the lottie! What I'm kicking myself about now is that I can't remember the variety or the supplier name, so I'm hoping there's some seed in the ground around the old stuff

            ^ thanks

i de shell the coriander take it out of the husk first. by slightly grinding them in a circular fashion using half a brick

leave in water for 24 hours

broadcast in pots and wait 5 to 7 days

you can do multiple grows like this in small pots and sow every 2 weeks so you have a continuous supply right up to maybe September

if you sow coriander every few weeks, you dont need to pinch out the flower, after it flowers it stops leaf production and spends it energy on making the seeds..

The only websites that are an issue is when they are spam or they link to sales websites [esp if the poster owns or works for that website].

              Otherwise, links are great!

so the leaf production stops when it flowers.. so pinching out the flower well before it even evolves into a flower is the way too go.. it does slow the whole plant down a tad though... thats why one has to grow lots and freeze it and use it whenever......
