Good tip - I'm looking to plant a bit of a herb garden myself this year, so might be worth giving it a go!

    Thanks for sharing.

Just requested a catalogue ......................... and just opened my post containing a catalogue and free seeds from Kings! Is this the same company? The seeds I got were Sweet Pea Air Warden and as I love sweet peas and want to grow loads this year, they're very welcome indeed
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I've planted up lots of shop bought chives (29p from Lidl when they have the half price veg offer on) they do great year after year. Also grow garlic chives from seed, quick and easy to do.

I received my catalogue this morning as well.

Included was a herb called RUE

According to a site i just looked at it is good for:

              Keeping away witches
              Treatment of snakebites
              exorcism

and best of all it is to be eaten if you are tempted by lust !

              I hope it grows

if you grow this be careful if you have sensitive skin.
its actually fantastic for hanging indoors to keep flies out, but, never harvest in full sun, it can cause a nasty rash., wear gardening gloves and harvest in shade.

oh and the witch thing? doesn't work, i am one and grow it (got dug up this year to make room for veg).

still waiting on mine, hope i get rue too, need some new seeds.

You can have mine! Apparently it deters frogs and toads, hence the "keeping witches away" thing

I got French Marigolds today, companion plant for tomatoes I think.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
