Last year I bought a rosemary bush from the local garden centre. To be honest I'm not very lucky when it comes to growing herbs, I think I over love them so tend to kill them off instead of them growing bigger!!! Anyway this bush looks very sorry for itself and I'd like another as I use it alot in my cooking. My neighbour has got a superb looking rosemary bush which I'd like to take a cutting of. How do I go about this and when can I do this. I do have an unheated greenhouse if that is any help??

cuttings from rosemary are dead easy
find a piece of new growth, you will be able to tell cos the stem will be green, cut several individual stems about 4-5 inches long, ensuring that you cut through at a green part, not woody brown, strip off the leaves from the bottom 3 inches, stand in a glass of water for a few days/weeks on the kitchen windowsill, keeping the water clean and roots will develop, once you have really good root growth, pot into individual small pots and bring on for about a year so nice and sturdy, then plant out in the spring after the last frosts.Last edited by BrideXIII; 01-02-2009, 08:05 PM.Vive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09
