Leggy Nasturtiums

I sowed nasturtiums for the first time a week or so ago. They've rocketed away! they don't hang around, that's for sure. Anyway. i sowed them inside, in a seed tray with some other flower seeds, only they're getting quite tall and i think, a bit leggy, so i'm looking to prick them out into individual pots.

My question: when pricking out/transplanting, can they, like tomatoes, be buried down to their seed leaves (and, like tomatoes, sprout roots out from the main stem), or must they remain at the level at which they originally grew?

I think they can, mine did the same last year and got planted quite deep. They're tenacious things anyway!

SarzWix - thanks, good to know! I'll plant them that bit deeper when i prick them out. Its terribly windy today so i'm debating with myself whether they'll last till sunday (when its forecast to be a) not so cold b) not so windy), and then they can go into the cold frame. I think. I have a chronic shortage of windowsill space!!

and thanks - its good to be back. I'd forgotten about this forum - i had a major bout of depression starting in about june last year, and the garden was the first thing to go.. I'm on top of it now, i think.. i hope.. so I'm doing it again this year. Only less.. adventurous. That was the mistake i made last year: taking on too much!

thanks, zazen! yep am doing okay these days - the garden looks better than it has in a very very long time, i'm feeling better than i was a year ago, that's for sure!
