      I think it's usually the stalks that are used , mine don't seem to smell lemony . Haven't done a taste test .

        My partner loves Thai food is lemon grass hard to grow ? Would be nice to start growing some for him if its not to difficult.

          No Ema it's not hard to grow. Buy a pack of stalks from the supermarket, keep them in a jar of water until roots start showing, and then pot them up. They will throw off side shoots, which you can break off to use in cooking.

          It is a frost tender plant, so needs to be kept indoors in the winter.
