  • Feverfew

OH suffers from frequent migraines. - at least that's what he says they are, he IS a man, so they could just be a bit-of-a-headache really - Does anyone grow Feverfew for this and does it really help? How do you use it safely and would it be OK to use it in conjunction with prescription drugs for the condition? (He might be annoying, but I don't want to kill him )
We've found most of the triggers, alcohol being one - a single sip of Champagne when he made the toast at our daughter's wedding was enough - but he still gets 6-8 migraines a year. If I could find something which helped, even a little, it would be good.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

(maybe not much help, i only managed to catch 1 programme and no speakers on pc )

There's a thread here that discusses it:

I've tried feverfew for my (mostly March) migraines (they seem to be triggered by strong light) ... actually, only Migraleve works for me. I'd be delighted to find out they made it from feverfew though

Thanks everyone. I've looked at the other thread too and what with self-seeding and the possibility of burning his oesophagus I've decided to go to the health food shop and try the capsules. I'm going to buy the Grow Your Own Drugs book though because it might be useful/interesting for other things.

I think feverfew is a member of the Chrysanthemum family and wouldn't be without it! (I've tried, but it keps coming back! Lol)
