Hi Abby, I want some of those water container cloches, we have some at work but they always get sent back (nice pic.) I use 80% of my herbs in cooking, have loads more growing around the garden, that's the main bed of herbs outside the kitchen door. Which herbs do you grow?

In my herb planter i have Mint, Parsley, Rosemary, Feverfew and Thyme.
The old hip bath is a family heirloom and my mum can remember the cattle drinking out of it when she was little.
I hate to see anything chucked out and its very nice looking anyway .

Might have to ask now lol. Sorry to hear about the radiotherapy, but glad to hear you've found gardening. I love growing herbs, they fascinate me. Sophie Grigson has a book called 'Herbs' some lovely recipes in there. Never grew Vietnamese Coriander. Whatabout Dill/Fennel, pretty easy to grow. Lemon Balm is nice too, can be made into a tea, from the mint family so can become invasive and self seeds, but I like it. I've a few types of mint, my favourite is chocolate!

Just come back from an afternoon in Bents wow the prices they charge but a lovely day out. Will give the Dill and fennel a go and the choc mint sounds just up my street. Chuckles did you have to drill holes in your lovely planter I suppose you had too. I watched that program with Kirstie Allsop's the other night and they did a planter for herbs but never mentioned you should put drain holes in it.

                Hi,
I didn't have to drill any holes due to there being a few in it already (rust due to age )

Just realised you're in Lancashire. Bents is nice (especially Christmas, wow what a display) very pricey though!!!!!!

Wow all these pics look great!

Those wall planters in the last pic look really cool mnmc2004- what a great idea for growing herbs in, especially if you haven't got much room and they looks so pretty too

I've only got herbs in my herb pot at the moment but have 5 packets (Lemon Basil, basil sweet genovese, Coriander, Chives and Oregano) ready to be sown once i'm back from holiday in a few weeks.

For now heres a pic of my herb pot which contains Coriander, Basil sweet genovese and Chives: -

Thanks mchanen...they taste even better than they look!

The wall troughs are from Wilkinsons £1.99 each I think....

I like your pot, I fancy one of them for the kitchen with my most used herbs in.

mnmc2004, that drainpipe looks ripe for a water butt to me.

Oh I was in wilkinsons today, the wall troughs was £1.09 odd price but just over a quid is a bargain in my view.
