Is this Woundwort?

Hello.

I have this plant growing in the garden - it appeared "out of the blue". Is it woundwort, or a stachys of some sort?



Hoping someone will recognize it.

No, it's not woundwort. It does not look like any wild flower I know. Is it perhaps an ornamental allium? Or even a globe artichoke? I have never grown these, so I may be miles out! How big is it?

It has a look of Phlomis - Jerusalem sage - but I don't know that plant terribly well. It has those clump things up the stem though.
