  • Rust on mint.

Does anyone know of a good way to tell one way or another whether mint has rust on it? My pineapple mint (meant to be very resistant to it up to the point of apparently not getting it at all?) has got leaves with orange ish spots on them. Not all the leaves are affected and it is a mixture of old and new growth that has them. It is possible that it could be scorching (some of the mint in the front garden has this I think), but I don't know enough about what either look like on pineapple mint to tell...

It was growing so well too!

Does seem a bit like rust.

We don't like spraying anything we eat, in this case fungicide.

We have from time to time got rust on our chive plants. What we do is cut them back to ground, and the new growth is rust-free.

    Might be worth a try.
