i bought 3 lavender plants early this year and planted them in the garden, i was wondering if i could split them and replant them, r is it best to leave them alone, they grew very well, and i would like to have more around the house as they smell so nice, cheers, seamus !

You can't split lavender plants by dividing them at the root... that would kill the plant, you can take cuttings to make new plants, not sure of the time of year to do it though.

They're very easy to grow from seed... give that a go in Spring.

You could try some cuttings now still. With the warm autumn, my Lavenders still have those nice fresh young shoots you want, so you you never know. Nothing to lose anyway.
