Ooooo I'd forgotten all about this. I too bought some ginger to try. It's still in the paper bag somewhere in my garden cupboard, I'll root it out later to see if it's still any good.

As promised, here is the latest pic of my ginger plant. Or it may just still be the root with a shoot, I don't know! And it is sitting beside my purple chilli which has 5 flowers on it - I took a paintbrush to them this morning, buzzing encouragingly!Attached FilesWhooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I cannot see how tall your ginger really is. Is it now taller than the chilli? Mine is still green and has developed a leaf. Tis a bit hard to see becasue the light behind it.

Oh, wow Brengirl - mine is about the same height as yours is before it branches out to make its first leaf. Mine looks like it is making a leaf, but is soooo slow! Maybe the bathroom is a bit cold for it.Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Hi can I join in. I had 3 lumps of ginger. 2 dried up and went all wrinkly 1 is in water and has been for the last 2 weeks, nothing has happened, do I give up or carry on waiting. I must say it is next to the rosemary cutting that I am also waiting to root.
