Hmmm - is this going to turn into a grow your own star anise challenge, Hotstuff!? I must admit I assumed they came from a tree!

I've tried a couple of times to get seeds going from those boughht as spice - so far - no luck.
I did do some research on them and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they had to be fairly 'green/fresh' to be of any use - perhaps someone will correct if I'm wrong?
I also believe that propogation by cutting - not sure if stalk and/or root is the preferred method where they grow natively.Comment
