new herb bed

i have just cleared room for some herbs on my allotment. it was very grassy and weedy. i removed the rubbish and have de stoned. should i add well rotted horse manure or just plant as is

Depends on the herbs; quite a few relish poorer soil.

tyhme, rosemary, chives, sage, borage to start with

They all do quite well on ordinary soil, hawthorns. Here is my herb bed at the front of my plot.
