  • This is my herb garden

Salvaged from last year and in need of some serious TLC.

There is garden mint in the pot on the left with sage just in front of it. The bare pot is going to have rocket in it.

In the planter itself is a pot of rosemary yet to be potted, a salvaged curry plant that needs trimming back (how?) as it's taking over the world and some garlic chives that are hidden by the curry plant, with thyme in front of them.

I was planning on cutting back the curry plant, potting the rosemary where it is, so far left corner (it's an upright). Then I was going plant oregano in front of the rosemary, so front left but what shall I put in the front right corner, in front of the chives and near the thyme? Would dill work? I'm a pescetarian so I do love fresh dill potato salad in the summer with some BBQd salmon.

Cor- that's a big piccie! ( I'm not really the one to be sayiing this...but any chance of resizing it??)

Herb patch- I bet that will look fantastic in a couple more weeks!
I'd be tempted to stick some nasturtium seeds along the inside edge and leave them to grow!

Dill will grow huge- how about sorrel? that's fantastic with fish- and it'll grow back each year as a bonus!!!

Curry plant isn't edible (at least, it doesn't taste of curry) and it's a big plant, about a metre high and wide

Sorry, no idea how to re-size, I just use the image code from photobucket.

Nasturtium?????? I think you're forgetting what a novice I am.

Sorrel is a thought, I've never tried it actually, taste or growing. What's its growing habit?

The curry plant is no more. It was too big and pointless so I binned it.

nasturtium - edible flowers, grows almost like a vine, loves crap soil, comes in reds/oranges/yellows,very pretty, Nasturtium | RHS Gardening

sorrel, kind of citrus tasting leaves, use in salads, will spread everywhere and self seed, the yougn leaves are ok, but the older ones have a kind of dry aftertaste.

Nasturtium, of course: lovely peppery taste

there are lots of different mints to grow: peppermint, apple, pineapple, chocolate etc

Have we mentioned thyme yet? I've got a lovely lemon thyme

I love the idea of having those trailing down the sides! So, do I make a small hole, 30 cm apart around the edges and put a seed in each one?

I've never been a fan of parsley, but the way you describe it sounds yum!
