  • Coriander has flowered...........

    Hi,

Planted some coriander a while back we have cooked with it a few times since it started growing.
I have noticed that it has white flowers now, can you cook / eat the flower as well ??

    Regards

Yes I do, they look lovely sprinkled on or in dishes or in a marinade and tasty in a salad. If you have the space you could leave them go to seed, which have their own different flavour again, these can be used whilst still green or dried, yum in allsorts of dishes. Seeds can also be saved for sowing new plants, but if these have bolted and gone to seed early may be not the best ones to save for seed.

If they were mine I'd be growing them specially for the seeds. These are absolutely fabulous ground up and cooked in stews, with potato dishes, in just about anything savoury. I prefer them to the leaves to be honest!
