i want to do a herb bed on my lottie plot but im looking for something abit different i am wanting to get herbs that are unusual can anyone recommend some pretty please
Pinkangel I have a herb patch at the front of my plot. It has parsley and thyme, sage, chive etc - and I interplanted with little violas which have flowered their socks off and look gorgeous. I also have some little tete a tete daffs planted in between and some little primroses. So when the tender annual herbs die back there is always something popping up.
Some of the artemisias are very pretty with silvery leaves
Hyssops have lovely flower spikes
Sweet Joe Pye is a lovely looking plant
Sweet rocket has lovely flowers
Bergamot isn't that unusual, but it is wonderful
Soapwort has lovely pink flowers, but it can take over (it has in my garden anyway!)
Mullein not in every herb bed, lovely tall yellow flower spikes
Balm of Gilead
Violets, primroses, clove pinks, roses, marigolds - all come under the heading of herbs too.
It's turning into my wish list now!!

Lemon verbena - very pretty shrub, Angelica archangelica (6ft+ tall), thymes - lots of pretty ones, different coloured sages (purple, varigated). Maybe a bit of box hedging too if you're feeling rich!
I wouldn't be without my large pink showy Bergamot flowers and the leaves make wonderful Earl Grey type tea!
