VVG, I would definately be putting mine into the ground if we weren't rearanging the plot this winter, they will have a permanent bed for next year.

If you have space at home that is probably the best place because I think you need to pick the flowers as soon as they are ready and they won't all be ready at the same time so it would save you having to go every day to check them............. At least I think thats how it works lol, I could just be talking mince and need to do some more reading up on them

It says to harvest at first light when flowers newly open. At their most fragrant then apparently. Going to get them in tomorrow as it said plant August ideally but until the end of September is OK.

When I saw the reduced price for the bulbs, I went to order 90bulbs. Yes, a bit mad. Just planted them today in big pots. Let's see how it goes by Nov

Btw, when it says the plant is hardy, does that mean that it would be able to stand frost? Or shall we be covering them with fleece?

I got mine too and took them up to the allotment, but ran out of time yesterday so didn't plant them. I'll be up there at the weekend to get them in the ground Exciting!

That's exactly what hardy means, yes

I had a friend in Penzance who used to grow them, but the harvest was minimal and they gave up.
