Try this thread from a few years ago. The supplier of potted herbs to the supermarkets says which ones you can successfully grow on and which ones you can't. Coriander's not usually successful.

I did my first coriander and basil sowings in January - I germinate on the surface of compost in pots inside plastic bags near a radiator and then move to a south facng window. Since then I've done a few pots each week. We've been using homegrown for the last month or so.

I always find that coriander is straggly - it's just what it does in the absence of one of those plastic sleeves the supermarkets use.

It's worth perservering as it is like you say - delicious. A homemade curry without it is just not right.
While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

My coriander that I planted a few months back has actually been doing alright, I think topping them up with compost really helped.

I will try to get some pics up later

Try growing coriander Calypso. It is a cut and come again and sown every three or weeks in a small pot will keep you going.
I have had one pot which has stood outside through the winter. The next lot is now coming on.

I think store-bought herbs die at home, because they are grown in different conditions. Nowadays, farmers use different fertilisers and chemicals to boost the growth and to keep pests away. It might be the soil, it might be the sun, it might be the pot, there are different explanations of why your coriander dies, but I think you should find out the one for you. Do you buy coriander from the same place, every time? If yes, try another place. If your trader uses some kind of strong fertilisers in the soil, and they lack in yours, that might be the reason for your failure. Make experiments.

            Good luck.
