called in b&q earlier today and bought some elephant garlic ,they also had some ginger which looked just like the fresh root ginger i cook with does anyone grow there own ? any tips advice welcome

I've grown it in the past from sprouting ginger roots - not very successfully

They had some in wilko.

Much cheaper in the asian supermarket where I got a huge bag for about £1.

I tried the b and q ginger and nothing came of it. But not sure how anything has done that well in that bed, as it was previously the base to a shed and I removed a lot of concrete and metal, but still there was some left which I couldn't remove it, so drainage and contamination may of been a problem.
