I grew rosemary from seed once and it did seem to take forever, much easier to take cuttings if you can.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Just done a whole proporgator box on thyme thinking I'd prick out a few but I've literally got hundreds, should I really just pinch out individually and throw the rest or should I pot a bunch together? Completely new to this so don't have a clue what I'm doing and really learning as I go and googling lol. Out of all the herbs I seeded last autumn I was literally left with one sage and one oregano lol! Both are I'd say established now and blossoming. All my seedlings seem to be doing well this year though

Going slightly off-topic:
I've started off some rosemary in large bottomless pots in a bed this year - I'm hoping the will survive the winter. Apart from maybe covering them during the harshest weather - are there anymore tips to ensure they flourish next year (i.e. do I cut them back, etc. ??).......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. As to cutting them back, don't cut into old wood. Best way to keep them in shape is to cut for use little and often.
They are fairly small at the moment - I don't really intend to take much this year........because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)
