My thyme plant

Is there something wrong with my thyme plant? As you can see there is some really green colored leaves on it and the others just looks dull.

Has it got dry at some point. I think I'd give it a haircut, by about half, a good soak in a bowl of water, drain and see what happens. Hopefully the green shoots will sprout.

Thank Wendy. No It's never dried out. I make sure there is water at the bottom of the bowl. I never water it from the top.

I will give it a hair cut and see how it goes.

All the thyme looks like that at this time of year.

If you're pruning it, don't cut down into the old wood as that won't regrow. If the shoot is dead, then cut it right down to the base.

Do you only cut it once a year or twice like you do with a lavender plant?

Mine looks like that, too. Unless you have it in all round sun in tropical conditions, with little water they usually go like that in the winter. The exception is my camphor thyme which I pamper on the kitchen window.
