Breadseed Poppies

I really wasn't sure where to ask this, seemed slightly more appropriate to this section than the flower or veg boards.

Anyway I am growing breadseed poppies for seeds this year as a sort of experiment (and poppies are so pretty anyway), and I was just wondering if anyone else has and what sort of yield of seeds I can expect per sq metre. I'm probably only planting up 2 sq. m so not expecting a huge amount but just a bit curious.
I've had a look on google but got nothing except a lot of rather detailed information on opium farming...not really what I'm after at all!

I haven't grown it but I do have some seeds. Mine are from The Real Seed Catalogue : Flower seed

That's what I have! I'm hoping for at least enough to make a batch of muffins.

I'm growing them too. Just out of curiosity. :-)

I grow them. Usually get about a jam jar full from about 8 clumps - there may be more than one plant in a clump as I sow a small pinch in a big module (did it on Monday) then plant out at the plot.

Thanks Alison. That does seem like a pretty good return. If all goes well then I should get at least a few batches of muffins and poppyseed paste out of my little patch.
