Is this a Bay?

Hi all,
I wonder if you could help me please?
I have moved and there is a big shrub which I think is a bay.
I took pictures earlier in the year when it was flowering.

I just wanted to check it was in case i go eating the dreaded 'poison bay plant'
Or something.

Yes, that's a Bay.

Crush a leaf, it should have a scent.
But always give the leaves a rinse before use, birdpoo spoils the taste.

I struggle to smell bay. I think I have a bit missing in my nose. I miss it if i don't put it in some food though.

Oh, yup, it is pretty large.
Neighbours have plenty of bay as well.
