I purchased a small pot of broad leaf sorrel that has roots comming out the bottom so it needs either planting outside or potting on in larger pot. The question is, my garden seems to be more akaline than acid (the latter the plant prefers) so not sure if planting out would be bad. Having said that, the red leaf sorrel I have planted out in the semi shaded, damp part of the garden is doing very well and thriving so perhaps not strictly true it liking acid soil.
If on the other hand I pot it on, should I use ericaceous compost ? Any tips from experienced growers would be welcome as I love adding it to salad pickings.
