I would like to grow a few nice clumps of basil.

What Im not sure about is is a clump like you get in a supermarket a single plant or multiple plants?

And If it is multiple is it ok to sow several seeds per pot?

I grow basil in the tunnel with the tomatoes. Single plants in the ground seem to do well and I get more basil than I can use.

Grow as a single plant and keep pinching out the growing tips to make it bushy.
Sow several seeds per pot and split up gently when small, into individual pots.
Sorry, I can't answer the question on supermarket Basil.

Feed the soil, not the plants.

The supermarket stuff is multiple plants but you're better off growing big single ones at home

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

After you've pinched out the top pop it in some water it will soon root then you'll have another plant.

You live and learn, thank you.
Does anyone want to buy some (now) redundant Basil seed.
