    You have to do whatever you think is best. If the plants have problems you know what not to do in the future. If they grow well then continue doing that.
    The best way to learn what works is through experience and we can only tell you what works for us.
    I plant all my herbs in the garden, pots take too much maintenance.

      Experiments are good - just remember what you've been doing so you can repeat it, modify it or avoid it depending on the results.

      My herbs are in the ground in the allotment. Not as handy as outside the kitchen door but, being surrounded by buildings, that only gets about 27 seconds of sun a day.
