Tell me about Passion fruit please. Is it really a fruit for eating or just the pretty purple flower with the Cross on it. Fearfully ignorant on this one!
If it is edible I am interested in the seed, if it is a flower, I expect Mrs Phreddy would like it.

Im not sure if the one ive got is edible or not i just grow it as it look's great.I didn't realise how easy it was to grow from seed. Im a lazy gardener and couldn't be bothered to collect all the fallen fruit and figured they would feed the garden anyway so left them and now have load's of baby passionfruit's coming up .

The usual one grown in this country is passiflora caerulea which just flowers usually (but in a good year you can get fruits to set and ripen). If you want the fruits you realy need p edule. Some specialist growers offer lots of different flowering ones, red raggy looking flowers etc. They're a lovely flowers but can get a bit rampant (if they're enjoying life!)Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
