  • Seeds for a school allotment

    Hi All

I just managed to arrange an allotment for our school, so we can teach the kids about where their food comes from and how it grows we will also be fitting it in with the national curriculum.
Now we have been in touch with the National potato council to get some seed potatos and the RHS who will also give a few packs of seeds but until the new school budget comes into force we are unable to purchase any.
Usually I send seeds to people requating on here, but this time I would be grateful for any donations anyone can make so we can get things started.

If you are able to donate anything then please PM me and I will supply an SAE.

    Thanks Chris

Ah well thats not entirely true, I am back at work tomorrow after a long weekend off for easter and then I am off for 2 weeks starting friday next week. I think most of lancashire have done this this year although not sure why.
Thanks for the seeds I look forward to getting them.

You are very welcome. I think it is a great idea. We did not do this at my school nor any of the schools i have taught at (although there was one programme once for 'excluded' children to keep them busy off site).

I do not know how I have accumulated so many seeds, I only started buying them in Jan and also got loads off magazines etc as need all the guidance I can get. Am sure this is an addiction! First year of new hobby... so many seeds!

                Good luck with your project

If you are interested in flower seeds I can send you a batch of dahlia seeds that I saved last autumn.

Let me know if you are interested. I suspect not but wanted to put the offer up on the off-chance.

funny you should offer them I just found an unopened pack of Dahlia pompon in the car dont know how long it had been there as I dont remember buying it.

                    Thanks for the offer anyway.
