You may stumble across the grapevine after googling for certain seeds and think "aha", a quick message and an envelope full will be on their way to you.



If you become part of the grapevine community, pretty much anything is available. Asking for seed, especially hard to get seed, with your first post is a bit of a no no and will result in the post being deleted.

Sending Private Messages to request seeds, without posting on the Grapevine at all, is an even bigger no-no, and may result in being banned from the forum altogether.

Join in the fun and give a little first.

Posting a couple of posts saying Hi and then asking all sorts of Grapes for their seed is also a no-no.

Like the Piglet says - give a little first, no Grapes like being taken for a ride.

You can't go far wrong to be honest. So long as you're friendly and polite you'll pick the rest up as you go.
The most common mistakes when you first join are posting in the wrong forum (The mods will sort this out for you though so no worries there) or starting a new topic for something that already exists (try the search function first. But again, the mods will keep an eye on this too).

Hi

Im new and havent done many posts however i am interested in seed swapping (always have too many seeds especially when GYO keeps putting them on the magazine). I have read the rules and wanted to know if i can offer seeds but not receive them at least until i get 25 posts. That way im contributing to my "trustworthyness" and not reaping any benefits until i have been on here for a little while longer.
