  • LOOFAH! try something exotic next year!

    Hi
I have some loofah seeds to go to a good home. You need to start them off early in the year with plenty of heat. Then you stand back! They grow like mad with the right conditions. They are particularly rampant in a greenhouse.
They make good eating when young and then good loofahs when old! Thats what you call value for money!

I am after some tom thumb or little gem lettuce seeds but open to other offers!

Shuskin, I *really* want to try loofah for next year. I've wanted to try it ever since I found out you could grow your own. Please save some seeds for me while I take a look through my collection to see if I have the lettuce seeds you want or something else. I have about 8 different types of lettuce, so there's a good chance I have some little gems.

WOW, I tried growing these last year and failed totally. Not sure if I have the lettuce you want though. Anything else you fancy?

        Hi
That is a shame. I think they really need the heat to do well or they just sulk or go south to Australia!
I grew a couple of plants on my allotment and another in my 10x8 greenhouse. No prizes for guessing which romped away.
I am interested in any brassicas for swapping to.

DOH, guess who missed this reply!!! Mine were started (except they didn't) in the propogator so no lack of heat there.

Any particular brassicas you fancy - I seem to have accumulated a fair selection!

              Cabbages and Kale rule ok!

              Hi

I admire your determination to have another go after this disappointment!
I've been there to and it is such a let down.
Any cabbages or kale would be much appreciated Shirl.

              Cheers
              Shushkin!

Thanks for bumping this thread back up Lavenderblue.

My seeds arrived a few days ago thanks shushkin, can't remember if I pm'd to say thank you so doing it again to make sure.

Doing a seed sort today so should manage to get your kale and cabbage off today or tomorrow. Do you have a clubroot problem - I have resistant cabbage if you do and I can make sure I send some of those seeds then.
